Just wanted to throw this out there if anyone is interested. I'd like to lead a ride at Batchelor St. Saturday 6.21 in the early afternoon. We will meet in the parking lot around 1 and be on the trails no later than 1:30. We'll probably ride 2.5 to 3 hours.

Pace will be mellow and nobody will be left behind.

Post up any questions or PM me if need be. I'll be on an orange Mongoose and driving a green VW Passat wagon.

Hope to see some new faces,

Red

Ooops!

I will be at my daughter's dance recital Saturday at 1:00. (I thought it was on Sunday) and need to reschedule this ride to Sunday 6.22 at 1:00.

Sorry if this change caused any problems.

D'oh. I'll have to pass. I'm heading down to PA on Sun (work) and will be hitting the NEMBA ride @ Huntington State Park on the way down. I catch up with you next time.

I think it is in the right spot on my map (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=117185920061721465882.000440b7232e4fa786744&ll=42.482226,-72.207642&spn=0.96822,1.691895&z=9&iwloc=00044cf6b2ac871924e19).

Yep, that's about right. Parking is across from the eastern part of the lake, however.

Thanks! Do you guys think the B Street trails are worth a 2 hour drive?

Well, I'm biased but I would. I guess it depends on what kind of trails you like. The trails we'll be riding are fairly technical with lots of short ups and downs. The technical parts are rocky trail features not so much rocks littered about the trail but some parts of the trail are rocks. Not too many drops or jumps either.

I like to put together rides that keep off the jeep roads so pretty much everything will be singletrack. You'll probably wonder why the heck I'm going up some of the trails but I rather climb singltrack than those damn jeep roads...

Looks like it might be a washout Sunday tho. :(

Bummer. Supposed to be heavy rain starting around noon. Subject to change though, it is New England...

If the weather is good, B-Street is worth the trip. It's unique and the amount of singletrack is amazing (and even more amazing if we wor in Earl's trails as well...). I'm going to try to get down there as well on Sunday-but if it's raining-well, B-Street is not the best, first option!

Well, looks like potential for significant showers/t'storms moving in around noon tomorrow. The terrain is already slick, I was all over the place on the roots this morning.

I think we could get a ride in if we start earlier, perhaps around 9:00.

If anyone is interested in riding earlier let me know,

I am coming from Sutton and picking strangeland up in Worcester. Its about an hour and a half drive. Andrew, I will pick you up at 11:30. Looks like it might rain though. I will make the call tomorrow morning if we are going or not. I will reply here around 9:30-10 what we are doing. That would give us enough time to be able to go on a local ride before noon. A couple from CT was going to go too but it looks like they are convinced that it will rain. Also, splat said he wanted to go as well. But like I said check back here around 9:30-10 and I will let you know my decision.

I wouldn't bother if you're not up for 9:00am. It looks like the a real good chance of some heavy showers/t'storms in the early afternoon.

woodsguy
June 21st, 2008, 10:41 PM
Ah, I didn't see that. OK lets try 9am. Andrew, I'll pick you up at 7:30. If it rains overnight or in the morning I will bail.

Ya know what. Now they are saying the rain will start at 10am. Looking at the radar map it looks inevitable. Sorry, but I'm going to stay local. That's too far of a drive to have it rained out and my tires are useless in the wet.

Good to meet you guys. Hope you had a good time and if you want to check out Earl's sometime, let me know. I 'll try to figure out a loop that involves more downs than ups.
