Hello!
I've caught a bit of the mountain bike bug and am looking to purchase a mountain bike, so that I don't have to carry my cross bike all over the trails (though that's fun too!)
I bought my cross bike from a teammate (NEBC) and that worked really well, so I thought I'd check and see if I could find a (somewhat) gently used mountain bike, and get a bit more bang for my buck. It's also nice to recycle bikes!
Here is my info:
I'm 5'1" and my beloved Specialized HardRock (my commuting bike) is a size 14.5 - fits me perfectly. I have a long torso and short legs.
I was biased towards hardtails but rode a Santa Cruz Blur over the weekend and was pretty impressed.
I was looking at bike in the Stumpjumper "level" of bikes, which is at a MSRP of about $1000 to $1300. I would like to spend $800 or less on a used bike.
Um, I'm not sure what else to specify. You can count on me to give your neglected/overshadowed bike a good home :) I was in charge of the MassBike Festival the past five years so I'd also feed the bike with plenty of pie.
Please feel free to pass this along.
Happy riding,
