New Commuter

I finally took custody of my new Redline Conquest. We have about 3 or 4 of us from work that are doing partial a commute a couple of days a week. It's about 15-20 miles one way. Anyhow, I got the cross bike so I can have a little fun in the fall too. I'm taking off the 700x35 knobbies for some 700x28 touring tires for now. I love the bike and have had no problems keeping up with the roadies so far. It definitely won't take the place of my Stumpjumper, but it's more time on a bike and less time in the car!

You'll enjoy that bike. I have the Conquest Pro (bought as an unused frameset off craigslist) and I am really enjoying it. I like to think of mine as two wheel Jeep SRT8 sport utility vehicle- very fast but very stout. One suggestion, you may want to aquire an extra set of wheels and mount the knobbies on those for days when the off-road bug hits (and it will).

Yea, I agree. It's definitely on the "to get" list although I need to lay low until my wife forgets how much money I just dropped on the bike!:)
