A group of us from NH, Midcoast Maine and North Shore chapters were treated to a killer ride at Vietnam on Saturday before the 20th anniversary banquet.

Words can't describe the fantastic work the VLMC and Tuesday night trail crew have done. It has been a couple of years since I last rode there, and even features that were built back then have been significantly improved. The amount of rock and soil you guys have moved by hand is incredible. The trail layout, flow and especially the technical features are phenomenal.

Thank you all for your hard work in improving this property and building these trails. I am certain the work you have done has exceeded everyone's expectations!

Rob, it's always nice to hear the enthusiasm when someone who hasn't visited in a while gets to ride the new trails. Nothing could get done out there if it weren't for the awesome volunteers who come out week after week, year after year with strong backs and positive attitudes.

I wish I could have joined you all on Saturday for the ride...maybe next time.

Thanks Rob, glad you liked it! As Mike said, it took a lot of sweat and tears from a lot of people to get it to where it is now. I wish that I could have joined y'all on Saturday, from everything I heard it was a lot of fun. And it's always fun (and educational) to see the trails through others eyes. We have a few more tricks our sleeve for both trails this year. So, you'll have to come back again to check it out when we finish it all up later in the year. I'll be sure to be there next time around!

Oh yeah that was a superb ride. Big thanks to the ride leaders and everybody who is doing the great trailwork out there, that place is so fun. I have been to Nam a few times, but Splat and the guys really put an excellent loop together. Never seen some of those big rock rollers before or the stuff on the other side of the PL. Whole ride was a super chill, even with all the mechanicals in the group, what was the tally? 1 broken pedal, 4 flats, 1 broken derailleur hanger... it's all good as long as their were no major injuries, we had some troopers. My favorite was following Splat along that ridge and he stats yelling about how somebody had recently placed a rock in a tech section making it "easy". "oh man they made it too easy!" and it was, we rolled it and stopped to wait for the rest of the group behind. John is still ranting "it's tooooo easy now, man!". Well the first rider catching up to us hits the new "easy" section and BAM, crash, he limps away. okay second rider comes along, BAM crash in the same spot and as the rider is on the ground doing the slow motion robot dance of pain, Splat is like..."well, humm?.. ok, maybe it's not that easy." classic.

Nice photos, Toddski. I got none, zero, zich. A little video of the steep steep rollers near the end of the ride. Quality is crap from U-tube compression: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rLgrTMe974

Thanks again Vos, Donny & Splat for the tour!
