I'm new to the forums so i thought i'd introduce myself. My name is Todd. I'm 26 and I live in Fitchburg so I call Leominster State Forest my home. This will be my 3rd year riding. I rode about twice a week last year, mostly at leominster. I ride a Trek Fuel 80 (03 or 04). So far i have added an LX crankset, a Marzocchi MX Pro ETA Fork and PD-M540 pedals. Nothing too flashy but it gets the job done. I've also ridden trout brook and backcountry excursions in Maine. I'm looking to try many new places this year. I plan on making a trip to the kingdom trails.

Todd you need to get yourself introduced to Slappy (Dennis) on the forum. He lives in your neck of the woods and can show you all the best riding locations. He also has a trail event this Saturday if your interested in doing some trail work and meeting a bunch of the locals.

Check out BVNEMBA. There is a ride every wed. night. Some of them might be a bit of a drive since most of the rides are little south and east of you but its a good way to see the trails.
The rides are usually posted here (mass forum to be exact) and are open to everyone.

Hey Todd - Dennis here. There are a few of us locals that ride Leo quite a bit and as well as some other trails in the area that you may not be familiar with. (As KC said, we're working on some new stuff in Westminster off the Midstate Trail tomorrow). Let me know when you're up for a ride or some trailwork.

Hi Dennis. I would definitely like to help but i have to work inventory tomorrow. I'll probably get stuck at work until 3 or 4. I would be up for something after that but i can't guarantee a time. I grew up in Westminster. What road is it off of?

Tomorrow we'll be working off Bartherick Rd, near where the Midstate trail crosses it; we've got some other stuff between the Graffiti Bridge and Crocker Pond that we cut last year, as well as future plans for a bunch of other stuff around town.
By 3 or 4, we should be enjoying a few frosty Wachusett RYDE brews and some shuttle runs. I'll PM you the address in case you want to pop in and say hi.

We've got a house up there for the DH season (and for some pre-season trailwork) - and I guarawntee there'll be plenty of them around. We owe you at least a few after that night at the emergency room anyway. :D

Dennis,
You have a place at SR? It looks like we will be closing on a condo up there within the next month or so. How is the riding on the mountain up there? It sounds like there are plans for a lot of additional trail work up there.
Where do you stay?

Hey Todd – nice to meet you Saturday.
Good times! And small world too huh?

We’ve got a seasonal rental on a sweet house off Paradise Rd (other side of Bethel). It’s pretty hooked up. :D Congrats on the condo – someday I hope to get a place up there. Great area.
SR’s my favorite place for DH in New England. Never had a lot of luck finding good XC stuff, but the trails on the mountain are top notch if your tastes run towards tight, rocky and steep (though there are plans to build some more ‘flowy’ and intermediate type stuff). If you do some searching around here, I've posted a bunch of pics and some video in the past. Trailwork I believe starts on May 19th; I’ll get some better details and post them up soon. See you up there this summer!
