Not sure how to catagorize this one:
http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/04/19/mercedes-benz-makes-a-trailblazer/
Comes in at 29.75 pounds. Cost is about 2790 Euro (or $4412). Sounds like a nice ride, but that is a lot dough....

$4000..Thats B.S i would rather buy a GT iT1 for the same price instead of that..
one question..what makes it 4000 dollars anyway? looks like a normal XC bike

According to my imagination, Mercedes Benz doesn't fit. That name would have fit better on an all out Shimano Dura Ace or Campy Record equipped road bike instead of the full suspension monster shown here.

what a joke...
this is half the price w/ a better spec and is same suspension design/almost same frame minus scandium vs. aluminum and the top tube.

A few of the auto manufacturers have gotten into the bike selling biz, all of the bikes they offer are manufactured by bike companies we've all heard of (or maybe not), and many are not unique models, and sometimes exist in the original manufacturers line up under a different name/paintscheme/part-spec.
Examples:
Mercedes bikes are made by ADP Engineering / Rotwild (http://www.rotwild.de/) (a german bicycle company)
Cadillac (http://www.cadillacbikestore.com/mountain-bikes.htm)Made by Kent (http://www.kentbicycles.com/index.html)
Hummer (http://www.hummerbikes.com/)Made by SwissBike
GMC (http://www.gmcbicycles.com/) Made by Kent
Lamborgini (http://lamborghinibicycles.com/)Made by Kent
Other car companies just support racing/development/teams, examples include SAAB/fisher and Subaru/Fisher (http://www.fisherbikes.com/team)to name a few.
We might see more auto makers join the biking biz as auto sales flatten/drop in the short term...who knows...

Car names on bikes is not new. There were some around when I was little. But, each time one of these waves of car names for bikes came around, it appeared to get a little out of hand.

Jeep sells their crappy awd bike at Dicks (http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2129486&cp=2367453.2712461.2712462&sr=1). Can you believe it got bad reviews? A $1500 bike at a discount store? Who would have thought?

The "Comfort Edition" with its white paint finish incorporates subtle black and red elements, giving it an extra touch of elegance which will appeal to the fashion-conscious cyclist.
Comfort and fashion - my dream bike is now a reality!

A friend of mine had a Jeep Grand Cherokee full suspension bike. It must have weighed close to 50 lbs. and had poor mechanical brakes that dragged and couldn't be adjusted. Man, did he labor on the hills!
I have to say, the guy had a great time out there on that thing. But he liked riding even more when he got a decent bike.
