Bradbury Doubletrack Open

Was out hiking Bradbury Mountain State Park with the wife today and was very happy to see how good the conditions were on the trails on the west side. 5 days ago there was quite a bit of snowcover still. After returning home, I thought I'd check the trail status on Bradburymountain.com (http://bradburymountain.com/) since I saw a few MTB tracks and it says the doubletrack is open on both sides of the highway (singletrack only open to hikers right now).

Being jobless (I mean "in between jobs"), I think I will head out to take my inaugeral rides in the park since moving to the state. If anyone has flexible work hours in the area, email me and we can ride together. I'll try to give a trip report later in the week.

This is a great trend, but don't get too excited - the double track is pretty limited... it amounts to the wide green line seen on the east side maps at the site above.

If you see anyone using the singletrack when it's closed be sure to give them some crap about it... The first trail day is May 4, and we'll likely be cleaning up some of the mess that poachers make!
