Learning to post pics is more frustrating than Re-learning to shift!

Cool!

Few questions:

What fork is that?

What tire is in the back?

Also, why did you feel the need to use all those unnecessary gears, you know you really only need one speed?

The fork is a straight blade Pugsley fork. 100ml spacing. Rear tire is a Kenda Tomac Blue groove 2.7.
The gears were a big decision for me. I have been SSspeeding for sooo long. Changing snow conditions during the rides wrer a big factor. I built this because Surly isn't making a 14in Pugs. So I went at it myself.
So far, so good.

Thanks, so that must be a very wide rim in the back, does it "square" out the tire for traction?

I have been thinking about trying to make my 22" Karate Monkey into some sorta fat tire snow bike. Though the A-C for the Pugs would really screw up the geometry of the bike. But I have until next winter to think about this......

And I was j/k about the gears, esp in the SS forum and your username!
Makes sense, and you were probably out riding while I was inside.

I don't think the largeMarges will fit in the Monkey frame. Speedwaycycles in the Alaska Forum has 50mil 29er rims. www.speedwaycycles.com . He posts as thirstywork.
I think the Pugs straight blade fork will be the same as the monk-fork, so geometry shouldn't change.

Putting gears on the 1x1 was a big decision for me. I have ridden Ss for so long. The Guys at my LBS really hammered me on that!

Say - what did you use in the droput to enable to use that nice rear derailleur?

This brings the 1x1 into a whole never echelon of versatility!

26" single speed
650b single speed
29er single speed
Snow bike

and now a whole new slew of geared configurations.

Nice work!!!

Looks like a DMR chain tug (you can get with or without der hanger)

DMR it is. I had to grind the top of the mech hanger to fit in the hooded dropouts of the 1x1.
