Please respect the trail closed signs as you see them posted throughout Vietnam this season.

We had a group of hard working folks come out last week and put a lot of effort into rehabilitating the area known as the half pipe only to find out when we returned this week to finish, that somebody had moved the "Trail Closed" signs, ridden the features and replaced the signs. I don't know who it was and I could not care less, but these signs apply to everybody. If you see them please respect the closure. We are working hard to repair the features and make them enjoyable for everybody this season. Actions like this just prolong our work and delay the availability of the features.

I'll try and keep this thread updated through the season with current closures.

As of 4/8/08:
Half pipe area of DLS - expected to open 4/15

I had hooked up with some riders on Sunday who reported to me that they declined to ride the features but had put a closed sign back up and moved on. Probably what you are refering to. Kudos to these guys.

Good for them. Apparently, not everyone gets it:

New trail features being developed leading up to the half pipe. The closure is pretty obvious as is the fact that the feature is not ridable yet. Please keep off it and do not make any changes to it.

Closed as of 4/15:
New feature heading into "Half-pipe"

No new closures this week, the feature leading to the "half pipe" remains unfinished and closed, but "half pipe" is open again.

Closed as of 4/22:
New feature heading into "Half-pipe"

Same closures as last week, the new feature just needs some time to dry out before it's ready. Please do not remove the signs, do not ride it. We will not be opening the new feature before Tuesday night next week.

Closed as of 4/29:
New step down heading toward the "half pipe" - expected opening 5/6

We were out last night (6/24/08) and did some reskinning of the big berm before the jumpline. It's closed pending some rain to help compact the soil so please don't ride it. We also reskinned the transition on the first drop on DLS (Rented Mule) so please stay off that as well. Trail Closed signs clearly mark these areas so there's no confusion. We hope to have these both reopened for the weekend.

On that note, people have been moving our trail closed signs and riding stuff before it has a chance to properly set up or dry out etc. If you see this happening please get involved and let us know or kindly ask the offender to respect the signs and move on. Better yet, take a picture and send that along. http://www.bustedspoke.com/Forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Thanks.

We reopened the big berm last night as it had firmed up pretty well. It rode great thanks to Steve_B shaping it so nicely. Rented Mule is still closed and will reopen as soon as it rains a bit.

Just follow the trail at the top of the cell tower hill and it will lead to the halfpipe. It starts at the kiosk and goes counter-clockwise. Please stay on the trail though and don't bee line for the halfpipe. We're trying to keep people on the trail and eliminate braids.

Thanks.
