Pssst. 'Pave the trails' was an April Fools joke.
(if this post of yours is a joke as well, then I apologize)

Ha! That is too funny! As soon as I saw the thread, I laughed. It's hard to take anything said on April 1st too serious.

This thread makes no sense without the original April Fools thread. If the Pave The Trails thread was removed, then this one should be as well.

I was guilt ridden and removed it. I usually only say such outlandish things in person. How dare I write the craziest thing I could think of and lay in wait for someone who is really passionate. I will try to be bad only once per year. No one went for the GOPMTBers thread.

Fixed gear bike enthusiasts in the area may be in for a rude awakening. Soon they may no longer be able to ride their prized brakeless bicycles on the roads of Rhode Island. In a bill set to be heard in the next legislative session State Representative Stephen Hampsted of Johnston proposes outlawing all "brakeless" bicycles. When asked why this issue should be considered Rep. Hampsted stated that he had heard from enough concerned citizens to spur him to action. According to Hampsted his office has been fielding dozens of calls and emails regarding what he referred to as "this ridiculous two wheeled menace".
According to Hampsted his constituents have complained of multiple incidents involving these "fixed wheel" cycles when they attmept to visit Providence. Per the complaints filed with his office visiting Johnston residents have had to deal with the unfortunate attitudes, and dress, of these cyclers. Specific complaints cite instances of indecent exposure. Most of these seem to result from instances of young males squeezing themselves into pants that are apparently many sizes too small. When pedaling this produces an awful version of what is commonly known as "plumber's crack" per Rep. Hampsted. Hampstead stated, "Why should the hard working folk of the region have to bear witness to things like this when visiting the Capital City?". He went on to add: "Can't they visit the Cheesecake Factory without being subjected to beefcake?". He also asked why anyone would wear a skinny white belt that obviously didn't match their bar tape, "how tacky and decidely unpro" noted Rep. Hampsted.
The proposal is slated to be presented before the State Legislature next week. Visit Projo.com for more details as they unfold.
