Hi All,

I'd like a favor from you guys. The temps are rising and people are going to want to start hitting the trails soon, and I fear that this year is going to be an especially bad mud season.

I've put up our annual announcement and I'm urging people to check for the latest trail conditions on the "Ride Board & Trail Conditions" of this forum.

I'm hoping that you all can help report on the current conditions at some of our favorite riding areas around the region. Maybe we can have a tread for each of the major riding areas so that people know when they should and shouldn't be riding. Thanks!

Here's my announcement:

Good idea. I'll try to check Harold Parker at some point since I live near there. That said, at this present time, I would not ride there.

I think that some announcements should be posted at popular NEMBA ride locations, i.e. Leominster State, Wendell State, Lowell Dracut Tyngsboro, etc. They should be posted as a general announcement to all trail users (not just MTBer's) warning of the damage resulting from trail use during mud season, we probable could work with DCR were applicable.

That is a good idea. Many of my local trails have sinage that states that bikes and horses should not use the trails when they are muddy (i think it should include walking as well).

Should definitely include hikers. Hikers tend to go around mud puddles causing them to widen and get worse.
