So yeah figured we needed some traffic in here. So anyone else hibernating this season? I sort of am. Got myself a trainer and use it not quite as often as I should. Not sure if its shear laziness or the fact that all my bike short have no padding left so sitting on that thing for like 30 minutes gives me worse saddle sore than a 20 mile technical ride.

Thought about getting a cushy seat for it, but then again, I do need some new shorts and such.

Committed to the damn spin bike, got on it twice all winter. Gotta get back into the habit.

The flu knocked me for a loop for a while there, but that excuse is now very stale. Snow coming tonight, and Jisch heading off to ski country, so the planets may align for another go tomorrow. 1 hour, intervals, two towels worth of sweat. Maybe committing here will help.

Thanks!

Hmm, I have no flu excuse but I did spin more than twice :D I can usually manage once a week, if not more depending on how I feel after work. Maybe I should put some sort of lock on my computer that only unlocks after I spin a certain amount of rpms... That would work I think!

Shoulda mentioned that I got out almost every weekend for 2.5 - 3hr real, in the woods rides, mising only last weekend while trying to spit out a lung. But my regular ride bud Jisch rides at least 3x/week, so his waits at the top of the climbs are getting longer, and I am getting no younger. I need some more conditioning just to keep him from dumping me!

I got that computer thing, too. Scrabble Blast is my current addiction. Of course, I got the dump-on-Bush habit in Politics and Rants, too. Gotta mix it up!

With my name being thrown around like that I gotta respond.

I know Slider hates lights, but its a great way to get out during the dark months - much more frozen at night than during the daylight. While I rarely do a ride where you NEED studded tires, last night's ride was one of them. Epic conditions, great ride (even if I was huffing and puffing keeping up to racer boy Miles E). So much ice out there.

I've done well with about 360 miles indoors since the start of the year. Lots of low intensity aerobic base work. Lowered the heart rate by about 10 bpm. Now its time to start ramping up the intensity.

That's what is it all about, seeing specific results. Congratulations on the commitment, MTBME.
