My 9 year old daughter is looking for a decent mountain bike to join me on the easier rides. Should be a 20" light frame (aluminum). Not Walmart or any of that crap!

All 20" bikes with gears are heavy. My daughter is of average build and started on a tiny framed 26" wheeled MTB at age 8. She immediately went twice as fast and far, as she could go on her 20" Specialized Hot Rocks.

I agree with Steve here. My daughter Allison got her 13.5" Frame Fisher at 9 or 10 and it was worth the wait. Before then all riding for her was pure misery. We were sure glad to be rid of the small iron.
