Don't forget everyone that 4 cross mtnbike racing returns once again to Shawnee Peak in Bridgton Me. With all of the snow we have been getting conditions ought to be perfect for racing. The race is this Sunday the 27th. Sign up starts at 9:00 with practice at 11:00 and racing at 1:00. Ernies Cycle shop is once again sponsoring and running the event and Bruce says he has got some great prizes to give out as well. The long range forecast looks goos so load the car up with Ma, the kids, the skis, and of course the Bikes and head to the Mountain to have some fun. Hope to see you there, under the Nemba Tent

As a newcomer to the area, I can't wait to see some of this action. I plan to leave the bike at home, but will bring the wife and skis. Check out the videos loaded on the Ernies Cycle Shop website:

If you don't bring the bike, you'll likely wish you did!
Funnest 'race' around IMO - do it if you can.
Sadly, looks like I'm going to miss this it this year for the first time. :( Oh well, at least that way Calvin won't have to spend the night hanging around the ER with us again. :D

"Bring the bike" and "ER" shouldn't be in the same post.
Seriously, I haven't been on the bike since before moving so I'm not sure racing is a smart idea for me.

Bring the bike for the race, but avoid being an old man entered in the 'big air' contest. :D

The race is pretty safe. A full face helmet is a good idea though.

I think I might bring the AT gear and skin up/ski down a few runs prior to [watching] the race. Anyone know if this is allowed at Shawnee Peak? I ask, because some resorts in Colorado (where I'm used to doing this) require a separate pass for anyone moving up the mountain on skins, snowshoes, etc.
Any advice is appreciated.
