I am in Windsor, normally ride Case Mtn. Need to get out and ride, was thinking of Westwoods or Bluff Point but... Are the trails clear at Grayville?

I think Grayville is clear. I know BDE1024/Heckler19 is running a ride there on Sunday AM.

I think I'm going to try to do Snip tomorrow AM, I'll be riding on snow for sure (on is ok - in not so good).

Here's a somewhat useful tool...

http://www.nohrsc.noaa.gov/nsa/

Gives good information on a large scale but cannot get down to local micro-climate.

I just got back from the Snip, nice winter riding. Yes there's snow and you will walk some of the steeper climbs, but overall a really great ride. I saw a friend out there riding too. If you stay in our tracks, you will have no problem with traction.

The dirt and many of the fire roads are icy, but the center was fine. No need for studs (though you could probably go faster on those roads with them).

Grayville is in GREAT shape. Most trails are completely clear of snow (mostly compressed leaves where there are no rocks). Did find some crunchy hard frozen snow on the north side of the hill and some in the valleys. There were some rather large frozen puddles on the woods road going in where water typically stands. There is a [long standing] trail braid and some bridgework however to get around the ice.

This is the second time I've left Grayville with doggie do-do on my tires. Really stinks up the van. Wish those dogs would take it off the trail... and it's obvious that they need more fiber in their diet.
