Has the recent weather helped to clear trails up in places like TOT, Borderland, Foxbo, Wompy???
If rideable, do you think studs are needed??
With the remainder of the week off, it would be nice to drive south for a day, leave the skis and snowshoes behind and get on two wheels in the woods.

From what I hear, Trail of Tears and Otis are wide open. Snow is gone and trails drained out well. Wompy is still not ready... perhaps this weekend.
Anyone have any idea how Freetown is?

Hey, if anyone leads a ride down there please post. I've been off the bike since October due to injury then snow, and I'm hoping to get a ride in with the week off.

Unless there's a good freeze...trails in Borderland will be too soft/deep...(same should hold for Foxboro)

+1 for Otis tour guide request. Saturday am perhaps? Looks like might be dodging rain all weekend.

I was planning a Sat AM ride @ TOT too. Looks bad for Saturday, but good for Sunday at least.. On the positive side hand the rain and 45 deg. temps should help clear the remainder of the snow around here (RI and SE MA). Still some decent snow around Franklin/Foxboro area.

Anyone ridden/walked Arcadia or Big River lately? I was thinking of heading down this weekend for a look but would rather save the time and gas if it's still under snow......

I rode tot yesterday, conditions are fine. They also started the land clearing for the new development on Popple Bottom Rd to the power lines on Great Hill Rd.

I might be up for an Otis excursion this weekend. Not sure I would be a good tour guide though. Don't get out there as often as I used to. Getting a little lost is a distinct possibility.

Any reports on conditions at Wompatuck? I imagine that if it's close now that it could be ride-able by the weekend. I have studs, so I don't mind hardpack.
Any info would be appreciated!

Wompy.....today (12/27) from the roadways:
Doane St. entrance is clear but the roadway has some ice patches.
So. Pleasant St. still snow covered, it wasn't plowed, rutted.
Entrance to park thru main parking lot (by the kiosk) is packed down by snow mobilers, slushy when the sun gets to it. Big ice pile at the gate.
Gate on main roadway opposite Admin. Building road has icey tracks by snow mobilers, not much snow.
Roadway to south loop wasn't plowed, still some snow, not many snow mobile tracks. Should have ice patches in areas.
Campground is almost un-touched.
Don't know what the parks' interior trails look like. The main road is clean & dry.
If the visitor center's front lawn is any indication of the trial condition, alot of green showning with some snowy patches.
The trail along Prospect St. (Norwell) had a snow mobile track on it, had some snow, but did show dirt in areas.
You won't ride on top of the snow.

Looking for anyone who knows the "Otis" trails off 151, I'm trying to get a group together from up North of Boston to go down. Planning on riding around 10:30am for a few hours with a cookout/in (depending on the weather) at my home in north falmouth about 2 miles away. We are all intermediate riders.
Will cancel if rain or snow but right now the long range forecasts looks good.
Let me know if anyone can lead us, it's worth all the food and drink you want after!
best way to contact me is at sdipietro@deloitte.com

Any update on trails in and around SE Mass? Specifically, Foxboro, Borderland and Freetown?

Freetown is 100% ridable. There are icy spots on the southern side, but studs not needed. 99.9% snow free. Think we hit two patches yesterday.
Borderland still has snow. Not sure on trail conditions.
