I know this isn't really of important, but I thought the Maine Forum has been too quiet in the two months I've been lurking here.
Well, we're almost to Maine. I know I had posted in a prior thread that my wife and I are moving from Colroado to Maine over the holidays. The movers left on Monday and we made it as far as central Iowa on Tuesday to see family for a few days. Here's a picture of our weekend beast pulling my everyday vehicle with 3 bikes, 1 frame, 2 pair of skis and a snowboard while stopped in Iowa. My wife drives behind me in her Jeep.

We left Iowa early to beat the snowy weather coming through. Luckily we are staying just ahead of it and hope to make it to Pittsfield, MA by Sunday night. Currently we're in western Ohio.
That's the trip report for now. I look forward to meeting/riding with some of you this spring.

Wow. A migration!
Best luck on the rest of the trip. You caught some good weather for the drive. Biking is only a few weeks away.

Made it. Arrived Christmas Eve. Had some pretty windy and rainy weather on Sunday, but expected it if we were going to miss the windy and snowy weather on Monday through the midwest and great lakes portions. My rental house (duplex) is kind of small, but that's all I can get until my Colorado house sells. Anybody want to buy a house near Aspen and Vail?:burndev:
MTNBKR, the van is a Class B RV conversion by Sportsmobile (http://www.sportsmobile.com/). They do fully custom conversions, and the Fresno, CA location also does custom 4x4 modifications. It may be a little overkill for New England, but it sure got its usage in Colorado and Utah on weekend cycling trips. There are a few pics in my gallery of early summer trips, but I have a lot of pics I still need to post.

I said the exact same thing for about 6 years. Now I only say the first half of the statement :)

Welcome.
Did they use an F-350 4 X 4 Chassis for the conversion? Do you have a link to the place in CA that did it? That is a great van for this area. I'm sure you will find places to use it.

Sorry for short response...I'm sitting in my car in the library parking lot (no in home internet for a week).

Living outside Freeport until the house sells in Colorado. Then we'll buy nearby.
Sportsmobile also works with Quigley for those wanting their 4x4 conversion. Then they'll do their RV conversion. The mileage is about 14MPG. Of course, I got way less than that on the drive out here pulling the car carrier. I was driving about 18,000 lbs total (van = 10,000 trailer + 4Runner + loaded junk = 8,000)
