Went there this past weekend with a friend from work and had a blast, got lost a little, and had some fun finding our way back. Probably will head back until the weather doesn't allow it if anyone's interested. I'm old and slow, so that's usually the pace of the ride.
Was a gorgeous day yesterday, crisp autumn day, bright sun, couldnt really ask for much more. (except that people leash their pets when walking them on a well used path

Wow, someone that goes the same pace as me. I was out there this past Sunday also. It was a great day if I say so myself. I guess some group had an enduro motorcycle ride out there earlier in the morning. Met up with a couple and had a nice conversation with them. I asked if the terrain is challenging enough for a motorcycle...his respone was...they call Foxboro S.F. Rocksboro S.F. So yes, it is very challenging.
But yea, I'd be interested in riding with you. Always trying to ride with another person always makes the ride more enjoyable. Shoot me a pm and well get together sometime. Would you be the person that I showed the map to, you were on a red specialized? Maybe?

Yea that was me. It sounds like you got yourself a little lost out there. That's why I carry a map with me.:) I'm still not familiar with the place. I sent you guys off in the direction of the ponds, is that where you got lost? I hope not. It still sounds as if you had a great time there.

Got lost off the north end of the map, we had a map, but weren't really sure where we were, not alot of trails marked on the map that are under your tires.
Absolutely had a great time. I'll pm you next time I plan on heading out.

The nice thing about Gilbert is you can't get too lost. You'll always find a main road (140 or Rte 1) or one of the perimiter roads right around the SF (Thurston St., Mill st. etc.). I ride there at least once a week and still find ways to keep it interesting. If you loop in the conservation land it adds some distance and variety as well.

I agree, it looks like there are dozens of paths, and a few offshoots of those as well. It turns out I may have a herniated lumbar disc, so my season for now is over. I see my ortho tomorrow, and see what's what. I was definitely told to stay off the bike :(

Oh wow, that really puts an early end to your season. If I remember right you said that you just recently started to ride again. Lets hope the doc is wrong and you just have a mild strain.

Just had a CT scan yesterday, going to the ortho tomorrow to go over the results, he's pretty sure it's a herniated disc. I just hope the repair and recovery time is short. I did just get back into cycling, and I just got back into skiing last year, damn this stinks. (self pity party is now over)
