Hello all, Tim Post suggested I post here. I hope you don't mind.

I'm coming to Wakefield on November 7th & 8th for training, but have decided to stay until Saturday evening to try and get some riding in on Friday and Saturday. The only problem is I need some locals to show me some of the good spots to ride. I also need a suggestion on where I can get rent a mountain bike.

So who can help me out?

Welcome to New England the best mix of cross country riding on earth IMHO. I'm sure there'll be plenty of members happy to give you the 10 cent tour . I just checked in with a local bike shop near Wakefield, and they DO have a demo program you'll be able to take advantage of. They recommend you bring your shoes and pedals. I'd also add bring your lights because the night riding around here is great. I'll send you a PM.

What type of riding are you interested in doing? XC or FR. The closest places to Wakefield for XC would be Harold Parker State Forest & Middlesex Fells. HP is the place to go of the two. FR would be Lynn Woods, Lynn also has XC trails. PM me, I'd be happy to show you around HP.

I got your PM and checked with that shop. They weren't keen on my using the program as a "rental" program. A shame since if I don't get a bike I'll be stuck in Wakefield without a bike to ride.

I'm mostly interested in XC. I won't shy away from some FR, but I'd prefer not to do too much. Getting injured while out of country is not a good idea.

But first I have to get a bike.
