Night riding in MA - ride request?

This guy at work who bikes (he's the subject of that post a few weeks back) went out and bought a MiNewt for night riding. I guess I influenced his purchasing a light, a bit :D.

I've been trying to get up to do a night ride with him (he lives in Winchester), but its just a freaking long drive - especially for the ride home afterwards.

Is there anyone in the area who would be interested in taking this guy out for a night ride? He's dying to use his new light, but doesn't want to go solo. He's an advanced beginner rider - excellent balance, but not exactly a speed demon.

Hey John,

I'm sure there's people closer to him that would be willing, but if he wanted to meet you halfway-ish... I ride at Hodges Dam in Oxford fairly often and would be happy to lead him on a ride.

It's still an hour drive for him, and I'm not sure how far for you.. probably also an hour? Hodges is 30 mins from my house, and I'm 15 minutes from Bigelow for reference. So it may not be ideal... but it's an option.

I live in Winchester and would be interested in a low key night ride. I do a lot of intermediate riding in daylight but would slow it way down in the dark.

Maybe he could hook up with some of the Merrimack Valley Tues or Fri rides...tho they may be wrapping up for the season soon.

Is he online? I guess not otherwise he'd be asking for himself. I could probably hook him up next week, like Monday if he lets me know he up for it by Sunday afternoon. Local too, but not the Fells. I live in Somerville, close to Winchester.
