RI hunting started the 2nd Sat of Oct, this past weekend.
hunting IS allowed on Sunday in RI.
200sq inches of orange is required by law in all areas that permit hunting.
for us, this includes Arcadia and Big River.
hunting is not permitted in Lincoln Woods.
don't know the details on MA season, however someone else has posted a link for that knowledge

Bow season has opened in both Mass and CT. You wont really need orange during bow season since bow hunters are usually pretty close to what they re shooting but you re going to have to wear it eventually so better sooner than later.
Anyone know of any kind of orange cover for the helmets?

Im the opposite Id rather deal with the deer hunters than bird hunters. The only problem is there are alot more deer hunters.
Deer are usually using a single slug
birds are using multiple scattering pellets.
Deer are usually either being shot from above in a tree stand or atleast on ground level.
Birds are almost always shot from the ground towards the sky.
Deer are a large target with a precise kill zone.
birds are aiming in a general direction and hoping the scatter of the pellets do their job.

Yeah, but birdshot = short range.

Shot guns in general are considered short range. Im pretty sure Mass doesnt have a rifle season. Im not sure about ct though.

That reminds me of another point. Even if you re riding areas that hunting isnt allowed you should consider still wearing orange. Areas that hunting isnt allowed is usually bordered by other land that it is allowed so there is a good chance depending how close the trails run to the borders there is a good chance there will be hunters just on the other side waiting for the game to walk out of the protected areas. And not to mention the knuckle heads that dont pay attention to where they re walking and end up in the restricted areas.

CP's no hunt list for NE MA with a couple of additional locations:
NorthEast MA
Hopkinton SP
Bradley Palmer SP
Willowdale SF, Pine Swamp E of Rt. 1
Great Brook SP
Harold Parker SF, Andover, west of Jenkins
Many TTOR properties (NE MA, Ward and Ravenswood, maybe others statewide) are archery only by a limited number of selected hunter(s). Not a real issue.
