Bay State Trail Rider (horse) event at Wompy Oct. 7

The Bay State Trail Rider Association, an equestrian group, will be riding the trails on BOTH sides of Union Street in Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, Mass. on October 7, 2007. They will also be riding in Whitney Woods, that abuts Wompatuck. Their event lasts all day.

Horses have the right-of-way, and can be spooked very easily by something that they don't understand. Stop and introduce yourselves to the horse and the rider. You DO have something in common.

Wompatuck's trails are not mountain bike specific! They are multi-user. Horses can use any trail in the park, at any time.

Thank you to all the MTBers that the Bay State Trail Riders (horse riders) bumped into on the Wompatuck and Whitney Woods trails this past weekend. The event went off smoothly, with only a couple of wrong turns from repositioned markers.
