Great Brook trail work 9-16-07

Merrimack Valley and Greater Boston teamed up this past Sunday to add a trail section at Great Brook. Great weather and eager volunteers made the project go quickly. Many THANKS to all who took the time out on a beautifull fall day to spend time at a favorite MTB destination.
This new trail section, approx 500ft lg, is located at the base of Blueberry Hill and becomes part of the "Acorn Trail" system across the street from the "Hart Ski Barn" lot. It allows the option of riding wooded trail that moves you away from the compost piles in the nearby cornfield. It is finished, signed and ready to ride, check it out.
I've included a link to some pictures of the work and hope others may have some more to add.
Again, Thanks to all the volunteers and we at Merrimack Valley hope to be working with our friends from Greater Boston and Steve Carlin from the DCR more in the future at Great Brook. Also, although Philip couldn't make it for this one (he was there in spirit) we all greatly appreciate his support and know he will be working closely with us on other projects at Great Brook.

Looks really great! I'm so glad that MV and GB NEMBA are partnering at Great Brook. I'm sorry I couldn't be there but look forward to helping out on future projects!

hey bob-

thanks for organizing this!

we went back and rode it after lunch and it was a very nice addition to the rest of the acorn loop. i came home with much less manure on my tires than usual.
