It's the brand new Quad-Tamer!!! Been wanting to post this for quite some time and just got around to it tonight. The threads spun off on the first one, and then he sent me a replacement, and it never got installed. Still (obviously) have it. Back then the largest rear cog you could get was a 28, and I think the smallest for the front was a 26, hence the need for a 4th ring in the front. Had to angle the F. derailuer a bit to be able to use all four. The sprocket was a rear thread-on that he fashioned an adaptor for for the front, using longer chain ring bolts. Worked great!

Reminds me of the White Industries Limbo Spider (http://www.bikemannetwork.com/biking/p/ATCOMPCRPRT/ATWINDLIMBO) (which basically accomplished the same thing)...

Ah yes, I remember those! You took a freewheel cog of your choice and added it on didn't you? Took one heck of a wide BB though.

Is that a freewheel you put on the rear wheel to make your bike singlespeed?
where did you order that? i need to get one of those??
