so i decided to finally venture out from the daily roads i normally travel back and forth between work home or shopping. about 1/4 mile from my house i took a left. immediately i was heading some place different. to my surprise the roads were lined with trails on either side...

another 1/4 mile off to the left was an open gate to a "recreational park" aka Saltonstall...and it allowed biking. as i enter the main area of the park this is what the woods opened up to...

I rode all 3 days through these trails...getting to know their bumps and curves. It was an amazing feeling to be able to ride TO a trail...not having to worry about fitting the bike in the car...and to find such a discovery waiting to be explored just around the corner from the house.

of course...those roads getting to the trail have some serious hills for me to beat...and it will be a while before i can ride home without having to get off my bike and walk...

but once i do...and i will...it will be an achievement worth reveling in...
I only wish i could have found it sooner. currently when i wake and by the time i get home it is dark. so i will only be able to ride it on the weekends.
also, since i'm soooooooo new to riding...i find myself unexpectedly timid about riding alone and currently have no one near to ride with, except a roommate that can occassionally. anyone interested in hooking up for a noob ride?
