Going to be in York this weekend and I'm looking for a good place to ride. I've ridden Mt. Agamenticus a few times and I was hoping to try something new. Could've sworn I saw a commercial for a bike shop in Portsmouth last year (Papa Wheelies?) so I figure there must be some good riding in the area.
I may visit a local shop for advice but I thought I'd check here first for recommendations.
Thanks!

Only been there a few times and want to ride something new????!!! Humm? Something tells me you really didn’t find and ride the good stuff. Did you make it out to Third Hill? Ride the singletrack on the water shed side?
As far as other areas around close to York, there is Pumpkin Town in Elliot, sometimes we start at the base of Aggie and ride out there for a 40+ mile loop but that’s impossible to explain and kind of swhacky. There is some stuff in Kennebunk, ask the guys at Cape Able bike shop. Clifford Park in Biddeford. Bradbury up in Freeport is nice. There are some scary redneck trails in Sanford ME. Fort Rock in Exeter NH is pretty cool and about 30 minutes away and the next best place, although I think the place is getting pretty blown out and boney these days, it’s just not very smooth. Really if your staying in York, I see no reason to go anywhere else than Aggie, it’s the best place around, especially with all the summer traffic. There are other places to park at too, you don’t have to start at the mountain, there is a spot close to the York exit off of 95 that allot of people park at.
Just shoot me a pm if you would like more info or a tour guide when you are in town, I’m sure you’ve missed the good stuff.
..and yes Papa Wheelies is in Portsmouth, great shop… they will just tell you to go Aggie or Fort Rock, cause really that’s it.

Not that the trails on Mt. A aren't great I was just wondering if there are more great trails in the area to explore. If Mt. A is really the place to be that's cool, we'll just go there. I couldn't tell you if we made it to 3rd Hill or the watershed area... we just wandered around and then found our way back.
