Interesting post. A nail bomb in London prompts you to warn us all about fear mongering, but your point is to say we're next.

A while back when people discussed the possibility of things like this happening (ie nail bombs coming to visit us in the first world), others (read: you) labelled such discussion as 'fearmongering'. Now, there's a big ass nail bomb in a first world city. Fearmongering has turned to fact and you're still playing the 'can't happen here' card.

That's not true at all. In fact, go back far enough, and I was predicting that we'll get hit with much worse, maybe a dirty bomb. I think it is only a matter of time.

Fear mongering goes for the jugular with flimsy factual or rational support. Drawing vast parallels to an attack in London qualifies.

Exactly, like saying that the climate will change catastrophically by the year 2080 unless humans change the way they use energy. Excellent example of fearmongering.
