Big Wheels for short/average riders?

I recall seeing an article in the NEMBA newsletter about 29er's. One question that I have is are there any negitives for a rider who is 5'6'' to be riding a 29er? I've read plenty of reviews about them benefiting taller riders but no input from shorter people.

Mine fits fine. I am 5' 8" and there are no negatives (relative to my size) that I can tell. I think we might see the same negatives on a 24", that taller folks see on a 26". Only thing is, if you want big wheels, you are going to have to turn them. :)
