Well, so far we have precipitation. How are the trails holding up? I am assuming it will be held unless the sky is falling.

The day is still on.:) Ranger Maggi Brown made the decision Sat afternoon, as the forecast looks good. There still may be a 'passing shower', but otherwise a good day.....Either way, the trails are the least of our worries. Blue Hills always drains well, and needed alittle rain to keep down the dust and put out the fires that have been burning for weeks. There are two specially arrowed routes: one fairly rolling doubletrack with some good climbs,a nd not too technical. The other, on the North side of Hillside st, way more technical and some rooty spots that I would recommend caution on.......
We have at least 9 or 10 led rides going out between 10:30 and 12:30 for adults and kids of ALL levels, the ongoing OBSTACLE course, the world-famous bike LIMBO, lots of DEMO BIKES and SPONSORS, SCHWAGfest raffle, AND a national trials CHAMPION, Mike Steidley, doing two shows for us at 11:30 and 1:30!!
See you there!

Hey everybody, despite the not so marvelous weather and a concession stand that was closed (much to the surprise of many), the Blue Hills Mountain Bike Day was excellent.

Yes! Blue Hills Mountain Bike Day was a success! despite the wetness, at least a couple hundred people came out and enjoyed the day!
BIG thanks to Joe Sloane with his tireless efforts once again organizing this for the 12th year, and to all the DCR staff for all their support, TrailWatch, and all the sponsors of course!

p.s. I do agree that there should be a food option--something is in the works for next year......
