This will be my first set. i got them on sale from EMS for $40 but all i need now is shoes. does anyone have or now where i can get a pair?
my shoe is 13 but i can were 12 1/2

I forget the name Nashbar gives them, but take a look at their house brand MTB shoe. Its the same as 661's and are only $50 if you can find a sale or a coupon. 661 charges $80 for the same shoe.

I have a pair and they feel great and have lasted a year so far - and no sign of wear yet.

I happen to like Lake shoes. I'm pretty hard on shoes, they last only a year or 2 with me, so I buy inexpensive shoes. The Lakes are moderately priced, and fit me well.

ya well this will be my first set of Clipless pedals and for now all i want and need is a pair of inexpensive shoe

Those are the Nashbar ones exactly - which I believe are made by 661.

I would loosen the release adj. screw most or all of the way out before heading down any rocky trails. You can crank them back in as you get used to un-clipping.
I didn't back mine off as much as I should have when I first rode with them, lots of tip overs.
