Another great Sat AM ride with LRR, the higher trails at the Snip are in great shape despite all the rain earlier in the week. Game on.

I had this past week off work. It rained A LOT. Which meant I spent most of the week indoors doing spring cleaning YEAH!

The sun made an unpredicted appearance on Thursday, it was cloudless, dry and windy yesterday. There's been a lot of hoopla on local boards about not riding this weekend due to all the rain. I took a gamble, fully prepared to turn back if the situation wasn't good at the local spot. I know the trails there and I know which ones are driest. Was it mid-summer dry? No. Was it a muddy mess? No - it was great riding. The normal mud spots are there, but they are there until we get a drought.

Anyway, enough justification, the trails were fine, LRR and myself had a great ride. LRR had her first OTB on the new bike, unfortunately that OTB ended in a mud puddle. She hadn't really considered that a possibility and was pretty upset about being wet. Despite that we had a great ride. Not sure why, but all the pictures in the camera are of me... Selfish today I guess.

Good lighting, I thought:

I've been riding at this place for a long time, I have to assume this roller is new since I only found it today... when you approach the lip, it sure looks like its vertical. As you roll over the lip you can clearly see its not... but its good for a little rush. Just looked at the pic again, it looks wimpy, probably should have shot it from a lower angle. Its STIL.

Dunno John, I think I'd call that roller tricksy...Looks like moss to the left, lichens to the right, and a tree at the bottom. All to be avoided.

Despite the time I spent worrying at the top, it was easy once I commited (not much choice after the front wheel rolls over the lip!).
