Dear NEMBA Volunteers,

If you attended a Merlin / NEMBA trail care event with Greater Boston NEMBA last year, thank you! If you didn't please consider coming out to help us this year. And to help you be more effective while helping to build sweet singletrack, the Greater Boston chapter is holding a trail building and maintenence school at the Middlesex Fells on Sunday, May 6th. This will be a great opportunity to learn new skills and reinforce old ones. We hope that you'll consider coming to this training session, and help us increase our pool of trail care knowledge.


Time: 8:00AM to 5:00PM, split roughly equally between classroom and field work.

Audience: Trail volunteers willing to lead small teams, land managers, park rangers

Prior experience required: None

What you will learn:

§ How to organize a maintenance event

§ Trail design

§ Construction techniques

§ Existing trail assessment

§ Working efficiently with volunteers



Cost: $20 includes a copy of IMBA’s Trail Solutions book (a $35 value), light breakfast, lunch, snacks, beverages, and use of tools.



Registration deadline is Thursday May 3. Please send the form below with your $20 check to NEMBA, 12 Essex Street, Lexington, MA 02421. You will receive registration details shortly. Register early as attendance is limited to 25 students.
