Saw this on another forum...it's a good topic.....so I stole it. :)
'06 was just a so-so year mtb wise for me, so my main goal is
1. to make '07 better! :D
2. Get to all the ride spots I did not get to last year....Ft Rock, that place
off of rt 3 that you can see from the highway, Groton, the Whites, etc.
3. Try to over come my fear/hesitation over steep stuff. I know what you
are suppose to do, but actually doing it....well, that there is the
problem.
Oops, forgot one...
4. Make the Tour De Kimball's happen this year. Biking & ice cream, what could be better.
And you all, got goals??

OK if I copy & paste?
First and foremost my main goal for this coming year is to have fun...
I don't really set goals, but some stuff comes to mind:
- I'd like to check out new-to-me trails in places like Littleton, Plymouth/Rumney, and Franconia, which I know all have some great riding.
- Another multi-notch century or two on the road bike is/are definitely in store.
- Finish building the 'stone switchback' on the Red Tail reroute.
- Stay off crutches, or rather stay off the Disabled List all summer.
- Give some of you a tour of our trails here in the eastern Whites.

Goals, Goals, Goals
- #1 have fun
- Give back to the biking community atleast 10% of the total amount of time I spend on the bike with trail work and advocacy.
- Ride with some really cool people (moved mid-summer last year from CA. Already met alot of great people. Went 3 months with no bike :( )
- Explore New England (road and mtb)
- Loose the weight I put on last year during my move - COMPLETE
- Discover the NE Race scene (road, MTN, and CX) & race
- Enjoy a beer or two with some new friends
Those are off the top of my head. Now I am just waiting for the weather to get good. Sounds like this wkend will be a start.

My 2007 (related to biking) goals:
lose 15 pounds
bike as often as I can
improve my climbing and FINALLY ace "my hill" (in Plymouth, it gets me every time)
bike more at different places
stay hydrated....
less bruising if possible
AND most importantly DO NOT Kiss anymore mountain bike riders - keep it on a "FRIEND" only basis! (ha ha are you reading this?!) ;)

All these goals are related to biking, actually all my goals are cycling related(I think I have a problem, that's the first step, right?).
1. improve endurance so I don't die during 24hrs of GG
2. ride everyday
3. get a cycling related job (so unlikely, but I hope)
4. find a girlfriend that smiles when I grab my bike, instead of the scowl I had gotten used too
5. not ride a geared bike all summer
6. pass on my love for mtn biking to a new rider
7. learn as much trailbuilding from radair as I can
8. build my trail at home and build a trail on my friends 30 acres
9. hit as many new trails in NH as I can
10. maybe add a couple bikes to the stable, hopefully the free frame from the dump kind

1. Have Fun, ride more and work less.
2. Build a new singletrack trail at FOMBA. Just waiting for the OK from MWW.
3. More road trips.
4. Rebuild Sentinel Pine Trail at Bear Brook. Waiting for approvals on that also.
5. Get to Kingdom Trails at least 4 times.
6. Resurrect at one of the lost CCC trails at Bear Brook. Recently obtained a 1940's National CCC Map of Bear Brook and its amazing how extensive the trail network was there at that time and how many trails have been lost and how the trail names have changed, since the CCC was still active there. I found the old Hemlock Trail there last weekend, while bushwhacking and looking for a solution to an old problem.
7. A ride weekend at Back Country Excursions.
8. A ride weekend at Saddleback, ME.
9. Do more of the Ron rides south and west of Manchester, NH.
10. Do a least one Backpacking trip to the Whites in the fall.
11. Put a hot tub in the back yard, to soak away the knots.
12. Ride Hovenburg in Lake Placid, since my wife is taking me there anyways. Unless someone can suggest something better in that area?

here's the list!
1. Ride 5 times a week-5 am starts and lot's of night riding ahead of me here-but I think I can make it happen.
2. To keep Chris Jenkins in visual contact for at least two-thirds of the John Jenkins Memorial Ride in Petersham this year.
3. Wheelie Drop-like I know what I'm doing!
4. make it through at least one more summer beating "The Kid" up most of the hills (this one's a long shot).
5. Three New Trails at Wendell by the July 1st Kenda-Topeak Ride!
6. I don't want to end Global warming-but I'd love to end the debate about global warming on the Politics Thread on the NEMBA forum.
Other than that-grow the chapter, watch BORAT another 30 times or so, find the perfect post ride beer-the usual!

Looks like the gauntlet has been thrown.
Who will win the challenge.
Liam,
The late riser and I took a tour of the Pocomtuck Ridge, including some of the new stash. He fairly flew up stairmaster.
You cleaned it without stopping yet this year?

Dang-well, scratch number 4 off of my list!! (I did say it was a long shot!). Maybe I should amend that one to keep The Kid in visual contact for two-thirds of all rides!

Theif! ;)
I wrote a lot of goals on that other forum, but I don't remember what they were now. Here are some more (we'll see if they match up :)):
- Ride more. Last year my leg got slightly mashed (http://picasaweb.google.com/RollingBodhisattva/Other/photo#5058967505747974498) at work, and so I didn't get to ride much. The Ft. Rock race in August was my 7th ride of the year :( I rode more in January than I did in May, June, July, and August combined.
- Do more long rides. I'd like to do at least 30 miles most weekends, maybe being able to complete the VT 50 this year.
- Lots of KT.
- Complete the transition of all my bikes to SS. The geared ones just hang collecting dust, so I might as well make them rideable again.
- Do more group rides. Riding with others is always a good time. I learn a ton from watching people, and it seems like the more people I ride with, the better rider I become.
- Do my first 24 hour race. I'm hoping to put together a SS team for Killington....anyone interested?
- And last but certainly not least, have a wicked good time on my bike no matter which of the above goals are met.
