Ahhhh Springtime on your bike when all the rotten leaves and sticks are the first things to show through the snow, then the beauty of all those cute little BabbyHeads start poking out, then rocks , then Logs, then you ride faster, farther, higher, longer. then comes summer......hot, even faster, dustier, super fast trails, travel for more rides, take more chances.
I LOVE BIKE.

I had some extra time on my hands, but I can't help getting a little excited about hat is just around the corner, Feel free to add your thought's.

Wish I could join you guys - have other plans tonight... if you see any of the motorcycle damage could you take some pictures and email them to me? The guys at NETRA are asking for them. If you see the MXers themselves - hit them up side the head.

Thanks,
John

Hiya J,
That Soapstone is quite a place ... lot of terrain out there.
Plenty of obstacles and plenty of hills...I was pooped.
You might had issue with our slow pace ... I heard you're a speedster.

The MX's certainly are making their damage. Looks like they have been running all winter and with studs ... blow out some single track and create a couple big mud sections on the double track. You said there not supposed to be there, eh? Never saw them.

Anyway ... good times for sure.
The guys post a few pics
Cheers

Looks like a great ride, I shoulda bagged band practice... nah that was fun too.

Looks like you hit the goods...

Speedster? hmm, I really don't consider myself a speedster (and I can always go slower). The RM Switch has surely slowed me down a bit - but its much more fun to ride!

Hopefully next time I can join you guys. I know that place as well as any I ride... From the pics, I think I know the route you took, there's more... much more.

I hear ya .. this Bullit is 40lbs .. .and it's a chore on the climbs ... phew.
The fun factor does make it worth the trouble tho.

Vgap?
If it's the one with the roots down it .. .then yea .. a couple times .. fun.
There's another fun one not caught in the pics. Just down from the wood ramp.

Big flat rock slanted down ... once on it ... roll down it fast .. manual off the end and there's a kicker at the bottom. That was fun.

That's a great place ... and def like to have you show us around.
It was my 1st time there and none of us knew it well.
Good stuff.

We started off of Hopkins road. and I know we just touched the tip of the ice berg in there . But I was doing what I know ! and adding navigation in the dark. I was staying with what I knew. there were a few other things I wanted to hit , but with the mechanical issues and not being 100% sure of where we would wind up I didn't try it.

Don't get me wrong, you guys hit some of the best stuff out there.

We'll have to make arrangements for a Snip Death March so we can hit all the good stuff. There's some really nice downhills (with the requisite paybacks).

BTW - Hopkins Road is THE place to start... I don't like starting at the main entrance.

Oh and my Switch is 36lbs or so...

We didn't hit any of those last night , But I have been on some of those before. including getting lost and going Up the DH trail from the observation tower. that is definatly the wrong way to take that trail.

Yeah, that's a muther to climb up. Unfortunately there is no good way to get to the top by trail, all the trails are too steep. Its not a bad climb on either the paved or dirt road though. Coming down that trail is mad fun. Though in the summer, its tough with all the tall grasses and stuff obliterating the trail. I've taken a few people down that trail, some are impressed, some hate it.

The climbs are tough, Jisch occasionally backs off so I can keep him in sight. It is definitetly worth the effort. For me, the best part is the middle ring stuff in some of the valleys. You can go as fast as you dare to.
