Anybody been out to Case? Is the ground dried up yet? Thanks.

I'm about 15 miles from Case. I live on top of a hill so my area may not be representative, but its freaking dry up here. I went for a ride behind my house today (see post in general) and it was mint. I may be being overly optimistic, but its warm, dry and windy out, I think we're going to be in business this weekend - but check before you ride, it'd suck to drive all that way to find out it was a no-go.

I'm going to try the Snip Saturday AM with my wife. Will report back.

Some buds went on Sunday past and said it was in great shape. I am sure this rain hurt it, but...

Case is great. I ask you all, is there any place better in CT to ride when it is wet? You can ride this place in the rain and it won't be muddy!

This year has had a phenomenal transition from winter to spring. There is none of that frozen layer beneath the surface that prevents water from percolating down. The trails are substantially dry... and the streams always run clear at Case.

I have been riding Case every weekend and the conditions are outstanding! The trails are damp enough to hold down the dust, soft enough to provide exceptional traction, and the leaves are off the main trails so there is no question as to the proper line. Sure, you might find a puddle here or there but you won't sink in them so either plow right through the middle or, if you don't want to get a spot on your bike, get off and carry your ride over the puddle.

It's open season at Case — get out there and ride!
