Thread topic from Bustedspoke:This is a big topic during this time of the year. With a number of different thread on BS and other local forums, everyone should be getting the message.

Dieselbikes was requested by a few local land managers to post an article about muddy trail conditions. We did not go into tons of detail, but we created any article that has our "spin" about riding on wet, muddy trails.

You can read this article by clicking on the direct weblink below:

It is also accessible from our homepage and news section.

I have received a few e-mail about posting this article on the rage or nemba forums. So here it is.

Thanks for posting the link. I thought it was a very reasonable presentation of the issue of muddy trails and riding impact.

Nice piece. As I rode last night at Foxboro I was thinking about the thaw. Most of the trails there are in great shape - just not where they were ridden earlier in the week :( If it had been left alone for a few days it would all have drained. It'll take at least another week for the ridden areas to drain properly and firm up. The lame thing is the worst area (the start of the town conservation trails) can be avoided with a quick ride on pavement. I've never understood why riding in inches of mud would be a good time for anyone....
