No, not really, ticked on. Just got back from ToT and my son had to pull a tick. And it is March! What was bizarre I thought was that he had full covering. The tick was half way up his arm and he had been wearing a polar fleece jacket the whole time we were out. Can't see where else he would have picked it up though. It's gone.

We have already pulled and found about five ticks on our dog here in Stow, MA. With our old dog we had winters when she had ticks in every month of the year!

A tick has an 8 year lifespan which makes them very tough little parasites. My friend pulled one off himself yesterday. It's a little early for New Hampshire but with the changing climate it's going to bring them out earlier. It's those tiny deer ticks I hate and having a dog that is black is a nightmare. I'm thinking about using Front Line on him but I hate putting toxins like that into his body. Any good or bad experiences with Front Line to share would be welcome.

I've been using Frontline Plus for years on both my springers with no side affects.
I use it year round as my dog loves to run in the woods with me when I go MTBing

I use frontline plus also, but it's so expensive - do you get it from your vet or online or what?

The one on my son was a full grown female. Body about 1-2mm long with a red butt. Quite visable actually. Hungry, but visable. :)

I didn't remember to apply any deet yesterday but I did a thorough chek last night and again today. I always come away from TOT with one of two things - a flat or a tick.. It seems like I've got a slow leak up front on the Walt so hopefully I'm in the clear as far as the ticks go.

Talk to your vet, but IMHO 16 weeks is way too young for chemicals.
