I’m looking for a daypack that I could also use for biking to work.
Any recommendations???

Does it have to be a backpack? I have used a variety of packs over the years and recently got a Timbuk2 messenger bag. I will NEVER go back! It is more comfortable, carries more with less back strain, cooler and more water proof. there are lots of messenger bags out there, and I am sure they all have pluses and minuses. The Timbuk2 is nowhere near the most popular. It is the concept that matters. Check them out. borrow one from a friend, whatever.

Try them all on!
Seriously, take the stuff you would take to work with you, go to a store with lot's of brands and try a bunch on loaded (the bag, not you). And make like you're riding, don't just stand there. It might hit you in the head when leaned forward.
A pack that fits me, you may hate.
Unfortunately for me, my back has expensive taste and chose a North Face. It really bummed me out at the time, I was broke and it seemed so expensive. But it was also the only one that fit me. 12yrs later it still comes with me.
Messengers are good too, but takes some getting used to. But Heckler's right, they rock. The can rival a Cadillac's trunk for space.

I gave up on back packs and bought a pannier. I ride 12-16 miles each way to work and found I had less pain in my lower back if my body was unloaded with stuff. I bought a nashbar pannier/backpack combo with the built in drybag on E-bay. I have been very happy with it. My only complaint is the extra weight of the rack and bag combo. Now I feel get to work with less pain and a dry back.
