Which tires are better, Kenda Nevegals or WTB Timberwolf? My tires are really worn down and its time for new ones.

nevegal dtc (dual tread compound) or the stickey rubber compound tires will roll infinatly faster than any timber wolf tire. the timberwolf will be a little bit better in deep mud (you shouldn't be riding anyway) than the nevegal, the timberwolf is better in leaves (no worry this time of year), the nevegal will be better on wet rocks, and any other flat surfaces. my vote would go for the nevegal. (i have used both tires for about a year)

Timberwolf is an interesting tire. I have been running weirwolf 2.5s front and back and like them more for volume and what I have found to be good sidewalls considering the weight (no sidewall cuts ever!) than anything else. Tried a 2.5 Timberwolf and the thing is huge, granny gear chain rub a certainty. Now giving a 2.3 TW a shot. Lots of rubber there so the reduced volume isn't really noticable. The 2.5 TW is available cheap if you want to give it go.

I highly recommend Specialized Enduro Pro D2 tires for all conditions.

everyone has a favorite tire there are be no one ideal tire. if it holds air and has some knobs you are good to go.

if you list the conditions you are expecting to use the tire then people
could narrow down some specific choices.

for instance I will chime in...use WTB Exi-Wolf 2.3's at 30psi with stans kit.that is the best tire solution ever.

see what I mean ?

Neveglas have incredible traction and great cornering, but the Stickee version roles slow and wears pretty quick ( haven't tries the DTC version). On super steep climbs the tire never seems to let go, just the pilot not having the legs to make the climb. Never tried Timberwolfs, but I am putting Weirwolf races on my new bike this week( yipee!), I hope they roll faster than a Nevegal but still have pretty good traction.....

Hey Hogboy- I thought WTB tires were on the Stan's not recommended list- are you running a UST version? If not how are they holding up?
