My buddy lives in Somerville and his birthday is coming up on the 18th. I'm coming down to visit and would love to get him out on his bike.
Normally, we'd ride in the Fells because it's so close, but it's so closed.
We both ride gnarly singletrack, he's definitely not into riding stunts (drops, logs, jumps, etc), but I am, as long as he can go around(and me too sometimes). Nam? Never been. Would he still like it without running all the crap?
Any suggestions within an hour of Boston?
Someplace that drains well and isn't naturally muddy, since it's gonna be warm(er) and all that winter will disappear(I hope).
Thanks.

I'd head to Wompatucket SP -about 28 miles south of Boston off route 3. Maps available at entrance, good single track by prospect hill

Nam is very fun even without hitting the drops. The "new" NEMBA trail has not only drops but flowy banked corners, rock gardens etc. Nam also has miles of rocky double track and rocks to play on so overall I would say its worth the trip. You may want to call Milford Bike (508)473-7955 prior to going, just to see what the trail conditions are like. Nam dries up fast, but everything around here is super muddy

I was just hiking in 'nam this afternoon. It is VERY muddy. Best to steer clear unless a big freeze comes through and hardens everything up.

Looks like it might be two out of place mtn bikers on the bike path just spinning away.
Thanks and keep me posted. I'm still watching snow melt.
