Immobilize/brace to prevent odd wrist angles, set yourself up for proper right-angle-at-the-elbow when at your PC, and take your anti-inflammatory of choice. Most people have no clue about proper posture at the PC, the main cause.

Depending on severity, you really should talk with a doc/PT. It can get lots worse without proper treatment.

Best luck.

I had carpal tunnel a few years back, as Slider said get a brace, anti inflammatories and worst case get a Cortizone injection ( didn't do to much for me). Hopefully it will subside before summer...

Not that I know anything, but if it's caused by using a computer, shouldn't you be saying 'no more sitting in front of the computer for long hours' rather than 'no more biking'? (You're too young for this to be job-related right?)

Job Related? He's too young to have a job!

Wait a minute. 15. We're talking video games, I'd bet. Only solution is more riding, less monster-killing, like Slappy says.

maybe... but u do put alot of pressure on ur wrist when u do jumps and hucking on a bike. but video games probably dont help but i play alot of video too.

id try physical therpy if it continues, to get ur wrist stronger

My bad. Make sure you parents know. Less snow blowing, and maybe a really cushy long travel bike might be just what the doctor ordered. ;-)

Snowblowing??? We only got a few inches all year.
Something's missing from this equation here...

Id be looking for a 2nd or even 3rd opinion. Especially if the first one came from a surgeon (not that I have anything against surgeons, but they make more $$ when they're operating, and they do have those costs to cover thankyouverymuchinsuranceindustry).

Huh, I didn't know you could develop carpal tunnel in a day. I always thought it was a long term repetitive motion sorta thing. Seems like it's most likely genetic tho. Interesting...

welll they said it was mostly brought to by the snowblowing and vibrating of a snowblower quad dirtbike snowmobile. and from typing too. and video games. but im never playing video games unless im sick or something.
