180 mile hut to hut

The trail across Western Maine took one giant step forward!
New Balance shoes just donated $500k to the 1st phase. Construction begins in the spring of '07 on the first of two huts. Total will be five huts, Greenville to Bethel/Nh border. Nh has tentatively signed on also. Could we see a mtnbike trail from Calais, Me to Kingdom trails?

I'd heard about this project last year. Where can we get more info? Donations?

I will keep you all informed as hearings are being planned for the next couple of months. Most likely rideinmaine and I will attend to speak to provide mountainbike/NEMBA input.
