Would you guys mind if I tagged along? I will be coming from Albany, NY to Hyde Park for Thanksgiving and wouldn't mind riding if it works out. What's the terrain like? I'm a decent rider, but don't want to get in over my head if you guys are doing Northshore stuff :)

Sure Pete! Everyone's welcome--the Blue Hills isnt known for any hucking, to speak of. It's alot of doubletrack mostly loose rocky gravelly stuff with some sweet piney singletrack here and there. But it's a fun place to get up some speed and mileage, do some climbing, and plenty of hilltop vistas to check out. Being Thanksgiving and all, we'll be 'just riding along' at a social pace with plenty stops for breath, water, and conversation. And Hyde park is right around the corner......
Bytheway, this ride will go on regardless of the weather...!(last year it was a snow ride)

Well I'm planning on being there. If anything changes and I'm not making it, I'll post it here, my family can be crazy, i've learned to never bank on anything.

Hey folks
The forecast is for rain. It's 1130 pm and not raining yet. If it is
raining steadily, the ride will be cancelled. If it has been raining,
but isnt at 7:00 am, then we're still riding. HOPE to see yall there.
If not, have a nice Turkey anyways!

Hey Mr Quo it wasn't raining(when we started!)..........
We had 8 of us, with a 9th about 1/2 way through....
Mr. Eric Heinrich did grace us with his presence again, riding (again) for the first time in many months......As usual riding one of his Dead Bike Company bikes(this time it was a fully rigid Bontrager race Lite with full XT and 737's......)
CP had his Mary 29er out for a Virgin Ride........
It did rain, and it felt cold in the parking lot, but once we got going, we had more to worry about with the slippery-leaf turns and those pesky rim brakes that just don't work when wet........
We had riders from as far away as Arizona, Albany, and apparently a Norwegian who Eric O. happened upon after we all were cooked and he continued on, solo, to do repeats up Wolcott Hill on my old beaten HooKooeKoo.....
Hope everyone hadda nice family day after all that. Nothing like a full turkey dinner and a couple glasses of wine to bring on the food-coma........
Thanks!
