I'm torn between these two for my nxt project/build. Anyone riding either of the two?
Big commitment due to having to sell one of my two favorite bikes of all time.
Pink Ted or Gunnar Ss.

A cheaper alternative might be to try out the 96er thing with your Gunnar. Throw a rigid fork on there (corrected for 100mm at least) and pick up a used 29er wheel on Ebay and have at it. That's the way a few folks on the DR board have given it a whirl.

Carver was cool, but having ridden a full 29er just before taking the 96er out, I really seemed to notice the harsher ride of the little wheel.
It was discussed **here** (http://www.nemba.org/forums/showthread.php?t=16434&page=2), there is a picture of it as well.
If it were me, I would go for the Pugz, I'm torn between that or a Retrotec 29er.
Good luck in you choice and be sure to update us here.

I thought of trying to convert the Gunnar. Its ht angle is set up for an 80 ml fork. The changes to the angles maybe too much. I have a chance of trading it off for a Surly 1x1. This frame may be better for the 96er attempt.
I have decided to shoot for the Pugsley. I ride more in the fall/winter than any other time. Also, my rides are moving more to exploring than riding in circles. The pugs fills that space better.
Now, lets see... gearing..lights...update winter riding gear.... Ahhh, the smell of a new bike project!
Thanks for the input

OK, This pugsley subject got my attention, since I've been curious about the Pugsley.
For practicality sake, can it be run a set of 29 wheels/2.3's? I just so happen to have a whole bunch of 29er parts ready for a frame.
Am I missing any issues this might have? I'm aware that wheels would have to have 135mm hubs...is there any other trickery I'd have to know about? Would the (29" wheel) geometry be good with this set up?
I just like those L Marge/endomorph tires for snow/sand...like exploring the "outer beach" by bike this winter...

For those who might be interested in a Pugsley, Harris Cyclery had one built up that you can test ride (or at least they did a couple months ago).
