Hey! I put on an annual Fall Epic (all day) MTB Ride. This year it will be on Sunday, October 15th. At the risk of looking like a "speed snob":o , I still put this out there... This ride is TECHNICAL and LONG and we need to move along quickly (not race-pace, but not leisurely, either). There will not be much time (daylight) for waiting for folks. You can bailout anywhere, as roads are at the base of the ridge the whole way, but that's not a good go-in plan, just a little reassurance. blah blah blah...
The more the merrier, but please be sure this for you... :) Give a call if you are unsure.

Doing the usual one-way route from Pennwood State Park (Ct.), to my house Robinson SP. About 38 miles total. It is a pretty technical, bony ridge almost the whole way. We ride about 1 mile of road over the Farmington River and then about a half mile up by the Turf Farm on the CT/MA line. Other than that, there is maybe two miles (all combined) of dirt road type riding and the rest is quite technical ridge. This ride is not for the masses. Going to plan to leave my house by 7:30. Doing the trailer shuttle thing. Bring a blanket for your bike. There will be a water stash at the half way point. Bring food for the day. Moving at a good pace, it will probably be about 7 hours. We will have a feed at my house after. Please bring something to share. I will have pizza and drinks.

Be at my house between 7:00 and 7:15. We will hopefully be loaded and pulling out by 7:30...

Please let me know if you are in.

Technical- ? small rocks, chunky rocks or drops?

YES! The majority are bigger chunkier. Very few short small-rock sections. With the bigger chunkier, some are sort of drops. There are a couple spots I will walk down, but some have ridden them. Some nice technical climbs. A few pretty steep, but all but one is makable (and we will try to prove that statement wrong). Not a ride for a heavy bike. Too many hills and miles. One (very strong) person showed with a Coiler last year. He finished, but it was a stretch, for a normally fast guy.
