I finally came up with something constructive to do with all the buckets of broken used bike parts I have built up. And no, I don't mean throw them at angry ladies who are trying to sick their dogs on you . . . Make & Sell keychains out of them, was what I had in mind. Check em out, if people like these one, I'll have to ramp up production and create more of them.

Very creative - but I don't think I'd want to have one of those in my pocket. I'd either rip the pocket or my fingers. Or am I being too A R ?
Maybe it'd work as a conversation piece on the table though.

Oddly cool. I particularly like this one...15 Tooth Cog with Triple Mount. Very metal Goth. But Huff n' Puff has got a point, or rather your parts do! Have you actually sold any of these yet? Are any of your customers thinking of sueing or do you have them sign a release? LOL Danger Will Robinson...I feel and impulse buy comming on.

Very neat idea! I also like the 15 Tooth Cog with Triple Mount. I think something like this would be perfect for a shed key or some other key that I keep in the house. Like previous comments, I don't think I'd want it in my pocket or purse. Very original and creative though.

I thought the gears might make for some pain too, but I made my first one of these out of an 11 tooth cog for myself, and it works great even in my pocket. The 15 toother is kind of big, so that might be its own issue but... Most keys have some fairly blunt corners too so I'm thinking they won't be so bad unless somehow that are in your pocket perpendicular to you leg and somehow you fall on them.
Sounds like I should make more of the 15 toothers, they seem popular. And no I haven't sold any yet, but I just put up that page 2 days ago. We'll see how it goes.

My last keychain died recently and I'm looking for something cool and MTB oriented. Cool concept, but I'd also want something a bit smaller, esp since my hands are small. What about small loops or segments of chain (cleaned up of course)? I wonder if we could get keychains with the NEMBA Logo? just a thought...
Also off topic, is the link to Macfixer your day job? Just curious, I might like to consult with you on some issues with my G4...
Thanks!

Yeah I did plan on making some out of chain links and some out of the smaller plastic derailer pulleys. Keep your eye on the page to see what I can come up with.
And yes MacFixer'ing is my day job, gimme a call 781 - 789 - 9015

I made one 8 link bike chain keychain. I only had one piece of clean unused chain (excess from the chain i'm on now) and until i get around to cleaning some of my older chains, no more chain keychains. So snag this one up quick if you want it. I also ran of of the actual 'chain' so I won't be making any more until i move some of the ones i have. Actually thats not true I have two more sections of chain, so two more rings, THEN i'm out. . .

That would be nice and compact, not too pointy either (could grind down burrs easily if needed).
I will indeed call you about my Mac.
Thanks!

I've got a keychain, for the garage, with a 14 tooth cog rapped with chain. Takes the 'bite' out. Instead of pushing a chain pin through to close it, you can use a key ring, and build off that. Has to be an even number, unless you are more creative than me. Hope this helps.

I've been thinking about making key chains from some extra stuff lying around, too.

Hey
I added two of the plastic derailer pulleys. One with a short chain and one with a long chain. That way, people who can't quite figure out how to NOT stab themselves with a small piece of metal can still play with the rest of us.
