Early years - various banana seat type bikes, some which had plastic gas tanks. Graduated to a 10-speed in the pre-license years as my main mode of transport. Rode my bike to school which was an oddity in the town I lived in.

Around 1980 - Bought a BMX style bike, built a "track" in the woods by my house - hooked on dirt...

**1985 bought a mountain bike for my wife and I to share. Its a "Zebra". I still have this bike hanging in my garage. Fully rigid, Suntour components and weird triangle pull brakes. Hard to describe. Heavy as sin.

1986 bought second mountain bike - really my first bike a GT Timberline with cantilever brakes (the rear one conveniently mounted on the chainstay so it was constantly "lubed" by mud). The only serious upgrade to the bike was to add a Girvin Flexstem. What a mistake. When you hit a bump what do you want your handle bars to do? Disappear? Yeah, not a good idea. Rode that bike to its death. I stripped the frame of all parts and put it out for the trash (incidentally someone trash picked it from my driveway before the garbage dudes came - which made me feel good).

1992 Cannondale Delta V with a elastomer based headshok. My first decent bike.

**1993 Second Delta V (first one was burned in a fire and I got the exact same bike - still have this one). Gave the old burned frame to a friend.

**2002 Cannondale CAAD3 frame with air based Headshok. vast improvement over Delta V, it now sports a Fox Float fork. Light, stiff and fast. Built up from a frame.

**2004 Titus RX100 (or Hammerhead 100x) First full suspension. Awesome bike 4" of travel front and back. Frame is light and stiff, though with DH tires on it, its not exactly weight weenie stuff.

**2006 Rocky Mountain Switch SL 6" of travel front and back, stiff and plush, not light. I bought this on a whim and figured it would be my "once in a while" bike. I can't seem to put it down.

Ya. These guys have too much disposable income on their hands. I will only list the bikes I currently own. I won't even try to go back to before I had pubic hairs.

GT Avalanche (Hardtail Aluminum) - Solid, indestructable, but harsh.
Specialized Stumpjumper Full Suspension - Could be the perfect all round bike.
Rocky Mountain Slayer Full Suspension - More suspension and higher bottom bracket for the rough stuff.
LeMond Buenos Aires Road Bike - Reynolds 853 tubing. Not too shabby.
