I am looking to upgrade the stem on my bike. I have a Truvativ XR on it now at 90mm long. Will a 50 mm stem mess up geometry and steering a lot? I do mostly freeriding with a few trail rides mixed in. Thanks.

If you shorten your stem it will shorten your cockpit, and will make the bike feel and ride differently (i.e. less weight over the front wheel). I wouldn't change it that drastically, especially if you like the way the bike rides now. Most of the time you try new stems in 10mm increments unless there's something drastically wrong...
