The UPS truck arrived about 20 minutes ago and dropped of a really light box for me! Inside was my nearly new Niner EMD 9 frame 9 and some touch up paint. Holy Cow this is the lightest frame I've ever owned! Can't wait for the rest of the parts to arrive so I can get to building!

And your workbench is so neat! Mine looks like a tornado hit and dumped a pile of parts & junk all over it.

I dunno about that hatchet as a bike tool, tho. :D

Oh yeah, sweet looking frame.

Brendan - this replaces the Surly - so just one mtb for me and one road bike.

radair - I just cleaned the work space up - funny how that hatchet is getting so many comments - I just threw it up in that spot.

Yup - I'd been missing it while it was back in NH for some 'custom' touches to beef up the rear triangle (I cracked the original one in fairly short order). Frank made me a custom hybrid ER-MX rear end - note the 'side plates' are solid like on the MX, not hogged out clean thru like the stock ER. The whole front end was either replaced or freshly painted and stickered for good measure while they had it too. :) Bonus!

That bike is absolutesly sick! I saw a few of those at Highland a few weeks ago. I'm still trying to figure out how the linkage works though.

It's a single pivot above the BB that the rr end rotates around and pulls on an rod which compresses the shock via the silver rocker plates. The rod has a turnbuckle set-up so you can adjust it's length, which changes the BB height and ht/st angles pretty dramatically. 2 shock mounting holes on the rockers let you change the travel from 4/5" or 5/6" depending on whether you use a 2" or 2.25" stroke shock (I'm pretty sure I've got the #'s right anyway).
There were 2 versions - a heavier duty MX that you probably saw at the mt and a lighter trail model ER that I've got. Really fun bike, good local folks to deal with too.

Pardon the thread jack - :o I'm psyched to have it back. Took it for a nice solo rip down the Nanamocomuck trail along the Kanc this w/e (my first time there)...good stuff. :rad:
