off piste

I started from Sandy's on the rotary and rode up to the Ledges, then headed back and checked out FOMBA. I rode 3 trails, but for my personal tastes they were too muddy from the recent rains to ride in good conscience, so instead I opted to do the Tower Hill ride to the Snow Slickers clubhouse, then up Tower Hill Road to Chester Turnpike, to the undocumented singletrack that cuts back to Tower Hill Road. I hadn't been on the singletrack in a few years, and was surprised to find it logged out in places. I ended up losing the trail and having to bushwach the last few hundred feet back to Tower Hill Road. Then, I grabbed the other unofficial singletrack at Old Candia Road and took it back to the rail grade and back to FOMBA. There, I reversed the Turkey Burner ride and made my way back to Sandy's around the lake. I was amazed how easy my old home area has become -- sorry So. NH, but Central Mass definitly has the harder terrain. ;D
